About the Role

As an Associate Director, Structured Asset Finance, you will play a key role in originating, structuring and executing complex asset-backed financing transactions with a focus on across the aviation, shipping and telecommunication sectors.

Working closely with Relationship Managers, Risk, Markets and Product partners, you will support the growth of ANZ's Structured Asset Finance franchise by developing client opportunities, preparing credit submissions and driving transactions from origination through to execution.

What will your day look like?

As an Associate Director, Structured Asset Finance, you will

• Originate, structure and execute Structured Asset Finance transactions across ANZ's international network, with a focus on aviation, maritime and telecommunication sectors.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, supporting the growth of the Structured Asset Finance portfolio.
• Develop financing solutions that meet client objectives while aligning with ANZ's risk and return requirements.
• Prepare high-quality client presentations, transaction proposals and marketing materials to support business development activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in partnership with Relationship Managers and other coverage teams.
• Lead transaction execution activities, coordinating internal and external stakeholders through to completion.
• Prepare detailed credit submissions, financial analysis and pricing approval papers for new and existing transactions.
• Engage proactively with Credit teams to negotiate structures, address risk considerations and secure approvals.
• Ensure all transactions are executed in accordance with ANZ policies, credit standards, governance requirements and operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date transaction, credit and client documentation.
• Partner closely with Relationship Management, Markets, Risk, Legal and Operations teams to deliver seamless client outcomes.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture and actively demonstrate ANZ's values in all interactions.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: 

• Proven experience in structured finance, asset finance, project finance, leveraged finance, or a related institutional banking environment.
• Demonstrated experience originating, structuring and executing complex lending transactions across domestic and cross-border markets.
• Strong credit analysis and credit writing skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality credit submissions and investment recommendations.
• Experience managing transactions from origination through approval, documentation and financial close.
• Sound understanding of structured finance products, lending structures, risk assessment and portfolio management principles.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships with corporate clients, internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
• Strong working knowledge of banking policies, credit frameworks, regulatory requirements and transaction approval processes.
• Experience working collaboratively across Relationship Management, Risk, Markets, Legal and Operations teams to deliver client outcomes.
• Exposure to syndicated lending, club deals and multi-bank financing transactions would be highly regarded.
• Knowledge of non-lending products, including capital markets and risk management solutions, would be advantageous.
• Experience working with lessors, alternative capital providers, equity investors or non-bank lenders is desirable.
• Understanding of the aviation and/or maritime sectors, including aircraft and vessel finance structures, would be beneficial.
