About the Role

 

The role supports the Material Risk Owner and CPS 230 delegates in meeting their accountabilities for the Business Continuity Risk Theme under ANZ's Operational Risk Framework, providing strategic and tactical leadership across business continuity and crisis management to support ANZ's strategic objectives and respond to emerging disruption risks. Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the Group, the role leads business continuity and crisis management uplift initiatives and delivers a framework aligned to industry best practice and evolving regulatory requirements, ensuring ANZ maintains strong organisational resilience and effectively mitigates business disruption risks.

 

In addition, the role drives Group-wide education, awareness and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen business continuity and crisis management capability and support ANZ's ability to continue delivering on its purpose during periods of disruption.

What will your day look like?

What you'll be doing:


•    Lead initiatives to support uplift of Operational Risk Framework with a focus on Business continuity and Crisis management systems, plans, processes and tooling and remediation of controls gaps.
•    Work with stakeholders to continually evolve Crisis Frameworks including Testing design in step with regulatory and environmental changes. Strategically assess and challenge quality and alignment across the various Crisis Plans.
•    Develop, maintain and promote Group policies for Business Continuity and Crisis management. 
•    Develop, maintain, and promote tools that enable the implementation of Business Continuity and Crisis Management in line with agreed policies. 
•    Monitor Division and Business unit compliance with agreed policies through regular discussions and reviews performed on implementation and testing activity. 
•    Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to Divisions and Business Units on Business Continuity related issues e.g., treatment plans, strategies, testing, risk management and compliance.
•    Uplift reporting and insights on BCM activities, actions and emerging issues at a Group level. 
•    Participate in governance mechanisms and own interactions with Divisional Risk Teams to drive improvement and simplification in the management of the Business Continuity Risk, act as SME and liaison point.
•    Education and awareness of Business Continuity (BCM) and Crisis Management principles and behaviours promoting an integrated and holistic approach to BCM and Crisis Management. 
•    Ensure consistent and updated Business Continuity and Crisis Management information is communicated across the Group.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:


•    Operational Risk Management frameworks and implementation preferably in the context of Business Continuity Management and APRA CPS 230
•    Demonstrated end to end knowledge of Operational Risk Management i.e. risk assessments, controls, KRI’s, events, RCA.
•    Expertise in Business Continuity and Crisis Management, framework design and implementation.
•    Expertise in Crisis planning, Exercising and Post incident Reviews
•    Industry frameworks and best practices as relates to Business Continuity, Non-Financial Risk and Operational Resilience and CPS 230.
•    Data analysis, reporting and insights oriented towards senior executives with ability to convey complex information in a compelling way
•    Relationship management with peers and senior executives
•    Complex problem solving and an ability to conduct structured reviews
•    Facilitation skills i.e. workshops/ group discussion
•    Communicating with impact and influence both verbal and written, suitable for senior executive / committee audiences
•    Process and system design and improvement and project management.
•    Third party governance and risk management
•    IT disaster recovery
•    Process mapping and taxonomies
•    Knowledge of data visualization tools e.g., Qlik, Tableaux, Power BI.
•    ANZ organizational knowledge or exposure to similar size organization 
•    Industry recognized qualification in Operational Risks and/ or Business Continuity and Crisis Management
