About the Role

 

The Capital & Provisioning Analytics Manager role sits within the Risk Metrics and Measurement (RMM) function. This role has a unique opportunity to engage a wide range of stakeholders across the Group, and to develop a deep understanding of Credit Metrics whilst influencing the way ANZ distributes risk information and analytics.

 

In this role, you will work on a wide range of analytical activities relating to the credit metrics supported by the Grid Risk Information Delivery (GRID) team. You will be responsible for the development of data driven processes and analytics to support reporting requirements and provide portfolio insights. Further, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of strategic change initiatives and activities. 

 

The metrics managed by the team are primarily credit provisions (collective and individual), impaired assets and portfolio delinquency, however you will also have exposure to capital, internal loss measures, and other portfolio credit quality metrics.This role will be well suited to individuals with a strong analytical/quantitative ability, and a desire to apply these skills while also supporting other deliverables within the team.

 

Aside from the teams within RMM, this role also provides the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the Bank, including Divisional Risk and Finance teams, Lending Services, Group Statutory Reporting, Investor Relations, and front-line banking staff.

What will your day look like?

 

  • Develop data driven processes and analytics that support various credit metrics reporting requirements
  • Ensure that the Bank meets its internal, regulatory, and statutory reporting requirements by supporting its end-to-end operational processes 
  • Support the preparation of various Group and Divisional internal committee and external investor presentations
  • Support change and governance initiatives for credit metrics processes
  • Other ad hoc tasks in which the Credit Metrics team contribute

What will you bring?

 

  • Strong financial and banking literacy, including concepts such as credit risk, capital and provisioning (in particular under AASB 9)
  • Knowledge of banking products, processes and systems, in particular those that relate to Risk and Finance at ANZ
  • Evidence of strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to review, challenge and add value
  • Experience with analytical tools, ideally, including SAS and SQL
  • An ability to undertake relevant risk data analysis on large and diverse credit risk portfolios
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven background in building and managing senior stakeholder relationships
  • The desire to learn, and a mindset of continuous improvement and curiosity
