About the Role

The Head of Compliance / Compliance Director is a regulated position and a member of the Board of Directors responsible for leading the Bank’s Compliance and AML/CTF functions in Indonesia. The role is accountable for ensuring ANZ Indonesia maintains an effective compliance framework and operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations. Appointment to the Compliance Director position is subject to OJK approval and the successful completion of all applicable regulatory requirements.

 

The Compliance Director is responsible for fostering a strong compliance culture across the organization, ensuring that policies, systems, procedures, and business processes remain aligned with regulatory requirements. The role provides oversight of the Bank’s compliance risk management framework, ensures regulatory commitments are delivered in a timely manner, and maintains constructive relationships with regulators.

 

In addition, the Compliance Director oversees the implementation of the Bank’s Anti-Fraud and Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC) programs, supporting strong governance, ethical conduct, and the protection of ANZ Indonesia’s reputation and integrity. As a member of the Board of Directors, the role contributes to the overall governance, risk management, and sustainable operation of the Bank.

What will your day look like?

As Compliance Director, your key accountabilities in this role will include:

  • Provide appropriate opinion and strategic advice related to compliance and AML/CTF matters in line with the prevailing regulation
  • Proactively communicate with and educate the business on any developments/changes on regulation issued by local authority
  • Monitoring of audit finding and regulatory correspondence
  • Conduct regulatory online or offline training to staff in accordance to their function
  • Manage bank wide regulatory reporting database
  • Prepare regulatory reporting that is assigned to compliance and FC/MLRO. Ensure the submission is accurate and delivered in a timely manner
  • Serves as a liaison officer with regulatory body (OJK, Bank Indonesia, PPATK, KPK)
  • Guide audit and control readiness for internal audit and regulatory audit.
  • Implementing improvement opportunities, and actively resolving problems and issues raised across the divisions during implementation
  • Ensure implementation of Non-Financial Risk Theme for Prudential Risk.
  • Establishing strong relationships with stakeholders including Project teams, MLROs Operational Risk and Compliance, Business Governance teams and country and business senior management.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Extensive experience in Compliance, AML/CTF, and Risk Management, with a strong understanding of banking regulations, products, and processes.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide effective oversight and challenge.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and regulators.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in AML/CTF, Sanctions/WMD, Economic Trade Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC), Fraud Risk Management, and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Ability to identify and interpret applicable laws, regulations, standards, and policies, and ensure their effective implementation across the Bank.
  • Strong governance and risk management capability, including the development and oversight of compliance frameworks, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and influence relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.
  • A logical and pragmatic approach to identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring risks to support sound decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Well-established relationships with regulators and relevant industry stakeholders
