About the Role

As an Associate, Institutional Non-Financial Risk (NFR), Vietnam, you will work with business leaders, Risk and control teams to support the effective management of non-financial risk across the International Institutional business. You will help identify, assess and manage key risk themes, control effectiveness and business activities, helping stakeholders make informed decisions within risk appetite. You will also support the application of the non-financial risk framework through governance activities, risk assessments, monitoring, reporting and timely escalation of issues, while contributing to the continuous improvement of controls and risk management practices.

You will play an active role in supporting regulatory change initiatives and maintaining a regulator-ready environment through strong documentation, issue management and implementation of regulatory requirements. In addition, you will support the delivery and embedding of the PACT program across the region, supporting progress, assisting with the adoption of new processes and controls, and escalating risks where required. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across business, Risk and control functions, you will help build risk capability, promote consistent risk practices and contribute to strong customer, regulatory and business outcomes.

What will your day look like?

As an Associate, Institutional Non-Financial Risk (NFR), Vietnam, you will:

• Support business and risk teams with non-financial risk matters. 
• Assist in identifying risks and understand their impact. 
• Build effective working relationships across teams. 
• Support risk processes, including meetings and reporting. 
• Track and escalate risks and issues on time. 
• Assist in improving controls and risk practices. 
• Maintain good documentation and support issue management. 
• Turn regulatory requirements into practical actions. 
• Monitor regulatory changes and emerging risks. 
• Support the delivery of PACT initiatives in the region, including tracking progress and raising any risks or issues. 
• Help embed new processes and controls. 
• Work closely with the International NFR team and share knowledge and learn from others.
• Engage with business, Risk and control teams to support consistent risk practices while considering local needs. 
• Assist in delivering key risks and regulatory initiatives. 

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Experience in institutional banking or non-financial risk with an understanding of key business areas including Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage. 
• Working knowledge of risk frameworks, governance processes and control in a large organisation. 
• Ability to support stakeholders and contribute to balanced business and risk decisions. 
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into practical business actions. 
• Exposure to risk, control or regulatory change initiatives. 
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain risk matters clearly. 
• Ability to manage competing priorities and conflicting issues in a professional manner. 
• Basic understanding of banking regulations and regulatory requirements. 
• Experience using data or reporting to support risk insights and decision-making. 
• Familiarity with risk systems, governance tools or control monitoring processes. 
• A degree in Business, Finance, Law or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications in Risk, Governance, Compliance or Finance would be advantageous but are not essential.
