About the Role


As an Analyst within our Security Operations Centre, you'll play an important role in helping protect the bank from cyber threats. Working alongside experienced cyber security professionals, you'll monitor and triage security alerts, support investigations into suspicious activity and contribute to incident response activities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for cyber security who is looking to further develop their technical and investigative skills in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

What will your day look like?

 

 

As an Analyst, Cyber Security, you will:

 

  • Monitor and triage cyber security alerts across endpoint, identity, cloud, network and email environments.
  • Assess alerts against established criteria and escalate potential threats appropriately.
  • Support senior analysts with cyber incident investigations, response activities and information gathering.
  • Assist with log analysis, telemetry review and evidence collection during investigations.
  • Help identify suspicious or malicious activity using SIEM, EDR and other security monitoring tools.
  • Contribute to containment, remediation and recovery activities during cyber incidents.
  • Participate in threat hunting and detection improvement initiatives.
  • Follow SOC playbooks, runbooks and response procedures to maintain operational excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records of alerts, investigations and actions taken.
  • Collaborate with cyber security specialists and broader technology teams to strengthen ANZ's security posture.

 

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

 

  • Experience in Security Operations, Threat Hunting, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence or a related cyber security discipline.
  • Understanding of cyber security concepts including network security, systems security, incident response and security operations.
  • Knowledge of common cyber threats such as phishing, malware and attacker techniques.
  • Experience using security monitoring technologies such as SIEM, EDR or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow operational processes, triage procedures and escalation paths accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document investigations clearly.
  • A passion for learning and continuous improvement within the cyber security domain.
  • Relevant qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Industry certifications such as Security+, GCIH or similar will be highly regarded. 

 

Highly regarded

 

  • Knowledge of application security, infrastructure security, digital forensics or malware analysis.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain frameworks or threat intelligence methodologies.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, GCIH or similar.
  • Qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
