About the Role
This role supports the management of non-financial risk (NFR) in the International business. You will work with business and risk teams to help identify, assess and manage risks across Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage, ensuring they are understood and managed within risk appetite.
You will support strong risk governance and culture by contributing to decision-making, helping meet regulatory requirements, and promoting good outcomes for customers and the business.
The role also involves assisting with the implementation of regulatory changes, ensuring they are applied in a practical way within processes and controls. In addition, you will support the rollout of the PACT program to strengthen risk capability and processes across the region.

What will your day look like?
Business Partnership and Risk Advisory
- Partner with business stakeholders to support the effective management of non-financial risks within approved risk appetite.
- Provide risk insights and constructive challenge on key risk themes, control effectiveness, emerging risks, and business initiatives.
- Support business decision-making through balanced consideration of risk and commercial outcomes.
- Build strong working relationships across business, risk, compliance, and control functions.
Risk Governance and Control Environment
- Support the application and ongoing maturity of the Non-Financial Risk Framework across the business.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting material non-financial risks.
- Ensure timely escalation of risk issues, incidents, and control weaknesses in accordance with governance requirements.
- Contribute to the enhancement of controls, processes, and risk management practices.
- Support the preparation of risk governance reporting and management information for relevant forums and committees.
Regulatory Engagement and Change
- Support a regulator-ready environment through effective documentation, issue management, and governance practices.
- Assist in the interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements and policy changes.
- Ensure regulatory obligations are appropriately reflected within business processes, controls, and operating models.
- Monitor emerging regulatory developments and evolving risk expectations.
PACT Program Delivery and Embedding
- Support the implementation and embedding of PACT initiatives across the region.
- Track delivery milestones, identify risks and dependencies, and escalate issues where required.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and adoption of new risk processes, controls, and governance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance risk capability and operational effectiveness.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- 7+ years of experience in Institutional Banking, Non-Financial Risk, Operational Risk, Controls, Compliance, Audit, or Risk Management.
- Understanding of Institutional Banking businesses, including Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance, and Coverage.
- Working knowledge of non-financial risk frameworks, risk governance, and control environments within financial services.
- Experience supporting risk identification, assessment, issue management, and control improvement activities.
- Ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders and support risk-informed decision-making.
- Experience interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements within business processes and controls.
- Exposure to risk, control, regulatory change, or remediation initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain risk concepts clearly and effectively.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
- Experience using risk reporting, management information, or data-driven insights to support risk management activities.
- Familiarity with governance forums, issue management processes, and control monitoring practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a strong risk culture.
