As a Junior Design Researcher in our Segments Tema under Personal Banking domain, you’ll play a key role in helping us understand our customers’ behaviours, needs and motivations to help shape our customer experiences.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?
As a Junior Design Researcher you will be responsible for:
- Working on digital projects that create better experiences for our customers – from user testing and researching with our customer to discover insights and digging into new trends.
- Support and deliver design research activities - guiding, planning and delivering research that identifies the most important actions to deliver both customer and business value
- Advocate and champion design thinking by bringing customer insights and data to the decision table
- Identify key themes, trends and best practice, and create design artefacts that tell these stories in an impactful way
- Participate in our design research practice to ensure alignment and guidance for yourself, other designers and stakeholders to ensure best practice is applied
- Advocate for inclusive design principles across research projects and initiatives
- Work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to bring them along on the discovery journey with you
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- An understanding of the many facets of design research and design thinking
- 1-3 years’ experience undertaking both generative and evaluative research with users
- A working knowledge of different research methods and tools, and how to choose the right one to answer your question
- An aptitude for sharing valuable insights in a compelling way so that they influence and improve customer experiences
- Worked within a multi-disciplinary Agile team of focused product stakeholders, experience designers, developers and testers and be an advocate for high quality research practices
- A fascination with how customers experience products and services and have a hunger to improve those experiences
- The ability to develop strong collaborative relationships - managing, influencing, and communicating effectively with partners at all levels.
- A strong focus on applying ethical and inclusive design practices in research design.
