Mō te tūranga - About the role
As the Enterprise Architect for Security, you will have the opportunity to shape and drive our security approach, to ensure our customers’ privacy, data and access are well protected. You will collaborate across teams to evaluate and select security-related technologies, ensuring the integration of best practices and providing thought leadership on ANZ’s security architecture. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence up, sideways, and down are essential, as you will represent New Zealand's interests at ANZ Global security forums, initiatives and in governance forums. Your understanding of tech drivers and defining future state will make a significant impact on our overall security posture.
In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and testing security systems that safeguard our business processes. Your expertise will be crucial in aligning our security architecture with the bank's strategic goals, ensuring that our technology solutions are both robust and secure. You will be guiding and working with architects, engineers and stakeholders across the organisation to deliver the security architecture, so ability to influence and work in a team environment is paramount.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
You will be:
- Accountable for applying the bank’s strategic vision to New Zealand through patterns for security architecture to protect our customers and the bank’s operations and data.
- Providing thought leadership on core security architecture questions, including zero trust, identity and access management.
- Analysing the technology environment to identify deficiencies and recommend solutions to ensure alignment between security target state architecture and the overall enterprise target state.
- Collaborating across teams on the evaluation and selection of security-related technologies, including integration of security practices.
- Participating in architecture governance forums and supporting the Information Security Governance Forum.
- Shaping and driving security strategy and maintaining security roadmaps, while representing NZ interests at ANZ Global security forums and initiatives.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
- Proven expertise in security architecture, preferably within the financial services industry or other well regulated sectors.
- Strong leadership, driving and communication skills
- Ability to shape and drive security strategy, influence decision-making, and create roadmaps for future state.
- Deep understanding of security technology and the marketplace, including key players and emerging threats.
- Expertise in designing and implementing robust security systems and patterns, ensuring they align with an overall strategic plan.
- Thought leadership and analytical skills to assess technology environments and recommend effective security solutions.
- Strong team management and coordination skills, with the ability to be hands-on when necessary.
