Mō te tūranga - About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Support / Operations Engineer to be involved in the Modern Banking Platform (MBP). The role focuses on supporting incidents and operational queries arising from productionised MBP capabilities, including Retail Deposits, Enterprise Customer, and the MBP Reporting and Analysis application features.
You will also provide support for overnight MBP batch runs and closely monitor ANZ downstream systems that receive files from MBP. Using strong technical knowledge, this role will contribute to the successful support of ongoing business as usual (BAU) releases from FIS. As MBP continues to evolve, the scope of this role will expand to cover new and future platform features, offering ongoing exposure to modern banking technology and operations.

Hours: Standard 37.5 per week with some contributions to a 24/7 roster

You will be responsible for:
- Working closely with FIS (MBP vendor) to investigate and resolve incidents and queries within agreed SLAs.
- Troubleshooting and supporting technical issues arising from BAU and future FIS releases.
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement and future structure of the Modern Banking Platform (MBP).
- Proactively monitoring and supporting platform operations to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Building a strong learning culture by continually developing platform knowledge and sharing insights, learnings, and best practices with the wider team.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
- The ability to assess and analyse the impact of system changes on banking operations and interconnected systems.
- Experience supporting MBP batch processing, including participation in on‑call support when required.
- Knowledge of managing and supporting FIS releases, with a focus on minimising disruption to business operations.
- A strong technical foundation to troubleshoot and support issues arising from BAU and future FIS releases.
- Skills in data extraction and analysis to support operational insights and decision‑making.
- An understanding of banking regulations, security standards, and risk considerations.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with analysts, testers, and stakeholders across legacy and modern banking platforms.
- An agile, open mindset with the flexibility to embrace change and approach complex situations thoughtfully.
