Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

As a Software Engineer in our Internet Banking frontend team, you’ll play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of ANZ’s Internet banking platform. You will enable the bank to maintain, develop, and enhance the functionality of our banking systems to meet evolving business needs. In this role, you will feel empowered to help define and build a banking experience that delivers exceptional value to our customers.

 

You will be engaged in continuous integration and deployment, ensuring our applications remain at the cutting edge of technological advancements. You will be at the forefront of developing and maintaining high-performance, cross-platform applications – collaborating closely with talented engineers and security teams to ensure our applications meet the highest compliance and security standards.

 

Role Location: This role is based in Wellington

Role Type: Permanent

Hours: Standard (37.5 hours per week)

In this role, you would have the opportunity to:

 

  • Collaborating within a high-performing Agile delivery portfolio as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Developing, unit testing, and peer reviewing front-end applications following ANZ’s software development lifecycle.
  • Proactively identifying and discussing improvements to ensure software quality and deliver great customer experiences.
  • Staying up to date with banking and finance trends, including technology, products, and regulatory environment threats.
  • Sharing knowledge and expertise with peers to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Ensuring quality assurance of delivered work through various techniques.
  • Delivering and releasing features for Internet Banking.
  • Contributing to the improvement of the codebase and methodologies for Internet Banking.
  • Participating in all applicable Agile scrum ceremonies.

  • A pragmatic approach with a focus on quality outcomes, and an open attitude towards sharing knowledge with peers and obtaining mentoring from team members.
  • Experience working as a front-end developer, contributing to improvements within development practices, and a problem-solving mindset comfortable with unknowns but striving to understand them.
  • Strong knowledge of modern HTML and CSS, and the ability to write or refactor clean, modular, maintainable code.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and the React Framework, with experience in unit and UI testing.
  • Familiarity with source code version control and peer reviewing code.
