As a Senior Test Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our ATM systems through thoughtful, hands-on testing and collaborative problem-solving. You’ll be part of a supportive and agile team, working closely with developers, analysts, and vendor partners to deliver seamless customer experiences. Your expertise in physical ATM testing, exception handling, and settlement validation will be key to maintaining the integrity of our transaction systems.
With a strong focus on quality, you’ll take ownership of the full Software Testing Life Cycle, from requirement analysis through to test closure, bringing clarity, care, and precision to every stage. You’ll be encouraged to share ideas, identify risks, and contribute to continuous improvement across our testing practices. Whether you’re setting up ATMs in test environments, developing test strategies, or liaising with stakeholders across the business, your work will have a meaningful impact.
Role Location: This role requires on site testing located in Wellington.
Role Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours p/week Monday - Friday
What will your day look like?
The Senior Test Analyst will be responsible for:
- Analysing business requirements and developing traceable, plain-English test cases and strategies for ATM releases, including compliance and certification testing.
- Setting up and preparing ATMs in the test environment and carrying out physical testing with a focus on exception handling, settlement validation, and simulator use (e.g., FINSIM).
- Writing and executing automated scripts within existing frameworks, while proactively identifying and addressing technical or process-related risks.
- Maintaining and updating test documentation, suites, and processes to reflect evolving functionality and project needs.
- Collaborating closely with developers, analysts, vendor partners, and wider banking technology teams such as Switch and Payments.
- Engaging regularly with key stakeholders to ensure alignment, support, and shared understanding across all phases of testing.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
- Banking and financial domain expertise, with a solid understanding of industry standards, compliance, and transaction workflows
- A strong foundation and hands-on experience in physical ATM testing & transaction processing
- Thorough understanding of exception handling, settlements, and decoding incoming and outgoing terminal messages.
- Thorough knowledge of functional and non‐functional testing practices.
- Experience with a variety of tools e.g. Jira, Confluence, Xray, Simulators
- Experience working within Agile environments—whether that’s Scrum, Kanban, or similar frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage your own time and priorities effectively.
