Mō te tūranga - About the role


As a Security Engineer in our Security Initiatives & Identity Management Team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the CyberArk Privileged Access Management capability, extending its coverage, developing custom connectors and integrations for CyberArk PAS, and creating and maintaining automation scripts to support CyberArk onboarding, reporting, and ongoing management.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?

As a Security Engineer, you will be accountable for:

  • Maintaining and uplifting the capability and extend coverage of the CyberArk Privileged Access Management solution.
  • Developing custom connectors (plugins / integrations) for CyberArk Privileged Access Security (PAS) - especially for CPM, PSM, and REST/API based integrations
  • Developing and maintaining automation scripts associated with CyberArk onboarding, reporting and management
  • Working with engineers, analysts, product owner and testers to design and implement system changes, platform upgrades and onboarding to CyberArk.
  • Enabling continuous delivery practices to increase delivery speed
  • Utilising tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing tech division capabilities
  • Primarily supporting the CyberArk platform but also other I&AM tools and required
  • Providing specialist advice, troubleshooting, and strategic direction for the CyberArk integrations development
  • Engaging with stakeholders and product ownership to prioritise new integrations.
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities that will enhance productivity
  • Helping to ensure maintenance of the CyberArk platform is carried out in a timely manner (e.g. helping with patching and DR tests)

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Strong scripting & automation fundamentals in the following Languages
    • PowerShell (advanced)
    • Python (strongly preferred)
    • Bash / Shell scripting
  • Systems-level understanding (Windows + Unix)
  • Application integration skills
  • Secure coding mindset
  • Troubleshooting & reverse‑engineering ability
  • Version control & SDLC hygiene
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

 

‘Good to have’ knowledge, skills and experiences:

  • CyberArk PAS / PSM / CPM experience
  • psPAS PowerShell module experience
  • Vault knowledge
  • CyberArk Plugin Generator Utility (PGU)
  • IAM domain knowledge
  • Exposure to monitoring tools such as SCOM, Dynatrace and Splunk
