This is your opportunity to shape the future of one of New Zealand’s most widely used mobile banking experiences. As a Product Owner in our Platform team, you will have real influence over how our digital services evolve, setting the direction for platform enhancements that make a genuine difference to millions of customers. You will work at a strategic level, defining the vision and roadmap while seeing your ideas come to life through meaningful, high-impact delivery.

 

You will be trusted to lead, connect and bring clarity, partnering closely with talented teams across engineering, analysis and delivery. This role offers the variety and challenge of solving complex problems, working through ambiguity, and elevating how we deliver as a platform. Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Shaping and bringing to life the product vision, translating strategy into clear, impactful roadmaps that align with both customer and stakeholder needs
  • Owning and prioritising a well-defined backlog, ensuring the team is always focused on the highest-value outcomes
  • Partnering closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements, connect the dots, and drive confident, timely decisions
  • Leading Agile ceremonies and maintaining delivery momentum by proactively identifying and removing blockers
  • Collaborating with onshore and offshore teams, guiding Business Analysts and ensuring high-quality, consistent outputs
  • Turning complex, ambiguous challenges into actionable work, delivering platform improvements while ensuring governance, compliance, and documentation standards are met
  • Performing BA activities for onshore initiatives, including documentation and process mapping.
  • Actively identifying, escalating, and removing blockers impacting delivery.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

 

To thrive and excel in this role, you will ideally bring:

 

  • Strong experience as a Product Owner (or in a similar role) within a technology or platform-led environment, with a proven ability to own and prioritise complex backlogs
  • The ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements, using artefacts such as user stories, process flows, and detailed specifications
  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban), including hands-on experience leading ceremonies and driving consistent delivery outcomes
  • Confidence working across onshore and offshore delivery models, including guiding and reviewing Business Analysis outputs to ensure quality and alignment
  • The ability to work through ambiguity, breaking down complex challenges into structured, actionable work that teams can deliver against
  • A strong grasp of governance, compliance, and documentation practices, with the ability to operate effectively within organisational controls while still driving progress
  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguity and bring structure and clarity.
