Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

As a Product Owner for the Platform team of our mobile banking apps, you will be at the heart of defining the vision, roadmap, and priorities of our Platform enhancement initiatives. Your strategic decision-making will guide Platform enablement and enhancement of our mobile banking apps in line with ANZ’s Technology strategy, ensuring our solutions meet the evolving needs of our customers, stakeholders and business goals. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, you will create impactful roadmaps and dashboards that drive continuous improvement, while designing and delivering backlogs with the Platform team and the Platform Lead to enhance ANZ capability and staff outcomes.

 

Your expertise in JIRA, strong refinement skills, and proficiency in Agile ceremonies and stakeholder management will be crucial. You will be responsible for:

 

  • Defining, communicating, and aligning the product vision and roadmaps with business goals and stakeholder needs in mind.
  • Creating, prioritising, and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to gather and prioritise requirements.
  • Facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, and removing impediments to achieve the team goal.
  • Coordinating with onshore and offshore engineers to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the sprint, identifying areas for improvement, and driving initiatives to enhance.
  • Conducting detailed analysis of business requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
  • Delivering technology-focused platform health improvement outcomes.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:

 

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Experience working on initiatives and product ownership (preferably in a technical domain) and managing product backlogs.
  • Ability to define and communicate a product vision and strategy through user stories, use cases, and process flows.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams, including offshore staff.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse performance metrics and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to gather and prioritise requirements from diverse sources and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
