We’re looking for a Senior Product Owner to help shape the future of Enterprise Data capabilities at ANZ. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in managing the backlog and priority of data solutions that support both operational and analytical needs. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the movement of data from source systems, ensuring it flows seamlessly into reporting environments that empower the business with timely, accurate insights. Your work will support a wide range of outcomes—from regulatory compliance to strategic decision-making—through robust data management and reporting practices.

 

You’ll support and coordinate efforts to managed timelines and backlogs, while setting priorities for key initiatives within the Ngā Tapuwae programme. This includes establishing a sustainable Operational and Analytical Reporting capability, delivering end-to-end data solutions, and guiding the discovery and planning of upcoming release phases. Your ability to bring people together, communicate clearly, and maintain a steady focus on outcomes will be essential as you help transition these capabilities into business-as-usual operations.

Hours: Standard 37.5 hours per week

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Managing the timeline, backlog and priorities for the program’s Operational and Analytical reporting capability, allowing for a smooth transition of key releases to BAU.
  • Managing and prioritising the requirements of business features involving data and ensuring fit for purpose solutions for File Movement, Regulatory, Operational and Analytical Reporting.
  • Representing the Data Discipline in program forums and decision-making processes.
  • Reviewing data-related architecture and vendor deliverables.
  • Guiding the design, planning and delivery of data solutions to support business outcomes.
  • Managing key data activities such as requirements gathering, mapping, and technical design.
  • Supporting change management and adoption of ANZ’s data platforms.
  • Overseeing a small team of data specialists to ensure effective delivery.
  • Providing strategic input on data approaches across the program.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:

 

  • Strong knowledge of Operational and Analytical Data Stores, with experience managing end-to-end data outcomes that meet regulatory, operational, and business-critical needs.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to navigate a complex, distributed data landscape.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in Enterprise Data Management and Reporting.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to bring diverse teams together around a shared vision.
  • Curiosity and adaptability, with a willingness to learn new skills and embrace evolving technologies.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a commitment to evidence-based decision making.
  • A growth-oriented approach, including the confidence to seek and offer constructive feedback.
  • A track record of innovation and the ability to apply emerging practices in your area of expertise.
