This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to shape the future of ANZ Private Banking in the region. As the Regional Manager, you will lead a high‑performing, values‑led team spanning Wellington through to the Bay of Plenty, setting clear direction, inspiring excellence and creating strong alignment to ANZ’s purpose and strategic ambition.

 

At the heart of this role is people leadership. You will build trust, lift capability and bring teams together around a shared vision - empowering Private Bankers to deliver exceptional advice and client outcomes while living ANZ’s values every day.

 

You will embed a strong conduct and risk culture, role‑modelling accountability and integrity, while championing the smart use of data, technology and insights to enhance performance, improve decision‑making and elevate both the staff and client experience. Beyond the business, you will be a visible leader and influencer - building meaningful relationships across the community and key networks to strengthen ANZ’s presence and impact.

The Regional Manager position is a dynamic and impactful role with a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:

 

  • Lead and grow a high‑performing regional team, providing clarity of direction, building capability and harnessing diverse strengths to deliver exceptional outcomes
  • Drive sustainable business growth, embedding strategy at a regional level to balance performance, risk and long‑term value
  • Represent ANZ Private Banking externally, acting as a visible leader at local events, forums and industry networks to strengthen our brand, influence and community presence
  • Shape national direction as a member of the Private Bank Leadership Team, contributing strategic insight, fresh perspectives and constructive challenge
  • Strengthen client outcomes and experiences, championing the use of data, insights and technology to deliver high‑quality, personalised advice
  • Build trusted relationships across internal partners and external stakeholders to deliver shared value for clients, the business and our communities
  • Lead a well‑governed, disciplined business, with strong oversight, accountability and a focus on doing the right thing

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Proven senior leadership experience, with a track record of leading geographically dispersed teams through clarity of direction, trust and empowerment
  • An inspiring, authentic leadership style that builds engagement, lift capability and unites people around a shared purpose and ambition
  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to turn strategy into action and drive sustainable growth while balancing performance, risk and value
  • A visible and credible presence, confidently representing ANZ at local events, forums and industry networks to strengthen our brand and community impact
  • Exceptional stakeholder leadership, building trusted relationships across internal partners, clients and external networks to deliver shared outcomes 
  • While experience operating at a senior leadership level within financial services or wealth management would be beneficial, genuine leadership capability sits at the heart of our search.
