Mō te tūranga - About the role

As an Operations Specialist in our Payments Operations Team, you’ll play a key role in their mission to safeguard the integrity of managing payment exceptions arising from the ISO 20022 Hybrid Address requirements.

The primary purpose of these roles is to ensure payments that are unable to process straight through are reviewed, repaired, and released in accordance with ANZ policy& Industry standards.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?

• Investigating and repairing cross-border payment instructions that fail Straight Through Processing (STP) due to incomplete or non-compliant address data.
• Applying ISO 20022 Hybrid Address standards and internal payment processing requirements when assessing and repairing transactions.
• Validating, enriching, and correcting payment data to enable successful processing.
• Managing workloads within service level expectations and ensuring timely resolution of payment exceptions.
• Identifying recurring exception trends and escalating issues where required.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve payment data quality issues and minimise future exceptions.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Experience in payments operations, banking operations, or transaction processing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to assess data against defined standards.
• Experience managing operational queues and working in a fast-paced processing environment.

An understanding of SWIFT and/or ISO 20022 payment standards would be advantageous, although training can be provided
