Role Type: 12-month Secondment/ Fixed-term
Role Location: Wellington
Work Hours: Standard, 37.5 hours per week
Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?
As a Master Scheduler, you will be accountable for:
- Developing and maintaining an integrated master schedule in Microsoft Project across multiple initiatives and vendors.
- Defining and managing the programme Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), key milestones, dependencies, and critical path.
- Monitoring programme progress, identifying schedule variances, and providing impact analysis and recommendations.
- Aligning Jira-based agile delivery tracking with the overall programme schedule.
- Producing schedule reports, dashboards, and insights for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Partnering with Programme Managers, Initiative Leads, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely schedule updates.
- Supporting scenario planning and risk identification to enhance delivery outcomes.
- Establishing scheduling standards, templates, and best practices to improve schedule accuracy and predictability.
- Coaching delivery teams on the effective use of Microsoft Project and scheduling processes.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Proven experience in programme scheduling within large-scale transformation programmes
- Advanced Microsoft Project skills, including master schedules and linked subprojects
- Strong knowledge of critical path analysis, dependency management, and schedule reporting
- Experience consolidating agile delivery data (e.g., Jira) into integrated programme schedules
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience supporting banking or financial services transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with vendor-led software implementation projects
- Understanding of PMO governance, reporting frameworks, and programme controls
