As a Senior Analyst in Liquidity Risk, you will play a key role in shaping the financial stability of ANZ’s New Zealand operations. This pivotal position focuses on the reporting and analysis of liquidity and funding risks, ensuring compliance with ANZ Group policy, as well as both RBNZ and APRA regulatory standards. You’ll be at the heart of managing risk and supporting the bank’s strategy to maintain a robust liquidity position. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact in a dynamic and forward-thinking financial institution.

This is a role for someone who thrives on detail, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about shaping the future of financial risk management. Your days will be varied and engaging, offering a mix of analysis, communication, and collaboration. You will take ownership of liquidity risk reporting, ensuring key metrics are accurately quantified and that any emerging risks are swiftly identified and escalated. A significant part of your role will involve working closely with Treasury, NZ Markets, and senior leadership to ensure liquidity risk is managed within the bank’s defined appetite.
Your work will ensure that ANZ continues to meet all regulatory and internal requirements while maintaining a safe and stable liquidity position.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
- 2-3 years’ experience in Market Risk or Treasury.
- Strong understanding of liquidity risk management and key risk metrics.
- Knowledge of financial instruments and their impact on liquidity.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards (RBNZ, APRA).
- Proficient in MS Excel, Python, SQL and Tableau.
- A curious mindset and an aptitude for using data to understand risk.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to risk management.
