Mō te tūranga - About the role
The Identity & Access Management (I&AM) Analyst role exists to support this purpose by ensuring secure, seamless, and reliable access to systems and services across the bank. Positioned within the Privileged Access squad, this role contributes to the design, operation, and governance of Identity & Access capabilities that protect critical platforms and sensitive assets while enabling our people to work effectively.
As part of the Privileged Access squad, the I&AM Analyst is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the CyberArk Privileged Access Management capability and expanding its coverage across the NZ Bank. The role focuses on securing privileged access through controls such as multi-factor authentication, session management and recording, ticket validation, least-privilege access, and role-based access models, helping to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, fraud, and technology incidents.

Hours: Standard Monday-Friday, 37.5 hrs.
Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
You will be responsible for
- Working with engineers, analysts, product owner and testers to onboard and maintain credentials and secrets to the Cyberark platform
- Enabling continuous delivery practices to increase delivery speed
- Works in collaborative teams to build innovative solutions
- Utilises tools and practices to build, verify and deploy processes and solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing tech division capabilities
- Maintain governance across privileged access and Active Directory
- Analyse use cases for privileged access and ensure that maximum protection is achieved for credentials whilst maintaining an acceptable user experience
- Leading the annual review of privileged access
- Provide specialist advice, troubleshooting, and strategic direction for the Cyberark tool
- Maintain the Role Based access model
- Analyse and approve (where correct) automated privileged access requests, and manually provision privileged access safely and accurately for exception cases, ensuring the bank remains protected

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
Must have knowledge:
- Proven experience in Privileged Access Management principles and governance
- A strong Security First mindset, with the ability to identify and mitigate risk
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
- Broad knowledge of Identity and Access Management security concepts, toolsets, and processes
- Strong data analysis skills to support access reviews, reporting, and risk insights
- Excellent documentation, negotiation, and communication skills to engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders
Good to have knowledge:
- Experience with the CyberArk product suite, including administration in on‑prem and cloud environments, or similar identity and security tools
- Strong Active Directory administration skills, with experience in AD Group Policy highly regarded
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to take ownership and deliver outcomes end to end
- PowerShell scripting capability
- Exposure to monitoring tools such as SCOM, Dynatrace, or Splunk
- Experience working within a Service Management environment and delivering outcomes aligned to SLAs
