In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining ANZ’s financial integrity and supporting the delivery of our financial governance programme. Working within a collaborative and high-performing team, you’ll help ensure compliance, transparency, and trust across financial reporting processes.

Role Type: 12-month secondment / fixed-term

As a Financial Governance Associate, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Supporting the execution of ANZ NZ’s financial governance programme, with a focus on control testing.

  • Coordinating the semi-annual Financial Governance Attestation and quality assurance over the Balance Sheet Ownership (and Reconciliations) policy.

  • Building positive relationships with teams throughout ANZ to work proactively on matters of financial governance and associated policies.

  • Working closely with ANZ’s external auditors in connection with their audit procedures.

  • Proactively assessing financial integrity and completing associated deep dive assessments.

  • Identifying areas for process improvement and contributing to a culture of continuous enhancement.

  • Participating actively in creating an inclusive, supportive team environment.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, assurance, or control testing.
  • A strong foundation in audit or risk assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • A proactive mindset with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work across diverse teams.
