Ko Mātou – About Us
Kia Hanga I Te Ao, E Ora Ai, E Tupu Ai, Te Tangata Me Te Kainga. At ANZ, we’re shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.
Mō te tūranga - About the role
At ANZ, we believe banking should feel personal, not transactional. As a Service Consultant in our Personal Banking team, you’ll be part of a team that genuinely supports each other. Your role will centre on delivering outstanding face-to-face service to customers, helping them with their everyday banking and guiding them towards the right financial solutions.
You'll be:
- The first point of contact for customers, delivering seamless and efficient banking experiences
- Listening with care and using the right tools to understand customer needs and have meaningful conversations
- Supporting customers in transitioning to digital banking where appropriate
- Ensuring daily cash handling and transactions are accurate and aligned with bank policy
- Keeping compliance front of mind, managing risk and maintaining secure cash processes
- Working as part of a supportive team that values collaboration, contribution and shared success
This is more than a banking role, it’s about helping real people, every day, in ways that matter.
Role Location: Wanaka
Role Type: Casual
Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
You'll enjoy plenty of variety and interaction, with the chance to build real connections and contribute to your local community. It’s a fast-paced role where you’ll learn by doing, be supported by your team, and grow your confidence every day.
Your day will include:
- Greeting customers and helping them with their day-to-day transactions
- Taking the time to explain banking products in simple terms, referring customers to the right teams when needed
- Managing cash flows in and out of the branch, ensuring accuracy and security
- Supporting branch cash needs through smart planning and teamwork
- Educating customers on digital tools to help make their banking easier
- Celebrating wins with your team and sharing ideas to improve how you work together.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
We’re looking for people who care about doing right by others. You don’t need to have worked in a bank before, what matters is your attitude, willingness to learn, and a genuine focus on people.
You may bring:
- A natural ability to connect with others and build trust quickly
- Clear and thoughtful communication, both face-to-face and in writing
- A good eye for detail, especially when it comes to processes or compliance
- A team-first approach, someone who contributes, shares ideas and supports others
- Confidence in navigating conversations around money or services, with empathy and care
- A flexible mindset and openness to learning new systems or ways of working
You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.
He aha te take e uru ai koe ki a mātou? - So, why join us?
