About the Role
As a Talent & Culture Senior People & Operations Specialist in our Talent & Culture team in Japan you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of Talent & Culture (T&C) processes throughout the entire employee lifecycle within Japan. Additionally, you will provide critical administrative and operational support to the Head of T&C, the T&C Business Partner Japan, and other key stakeholders at both local and regional levels, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the function.

What will your day look like?
As a Talent & Culture Senior People & Operations Specialist you will;

Support the Head of T&C, T&C BP, Finance, and local managers in managing end to end people related matters.

Contribute to employee engagement and wellbeing related activities, fostering a positive workplace culture.

Build collaborative working relationships across teams, supporting a high-performance culture aligned with ANZ values.

Execute Talent & Culture (T&C) operational and administrative processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding support.

Strengthen operational T&C performance through collaboration with service hubs and key stakeholders.

Ensure core T&C policies, processes, and practices are effectively communicated and consistently applied across the business.

Manage employee issues in line with local employment legislation, seeking guidance when necessary.

Ensure 100% compliance with processes to mitigate financial penalties and adhere to ANZ and country-specific policies.

Oversee payroll, benefits, taxation procedures, and accurate payment processing within banking systems.

Prepare and submit regular, cyclical, and ad-hoc people reports, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery.

Maintain strong governance and adherence to ANZ policies, identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Oversee risk management and compliance, ensuring adherence to external regulatory requirements.

Support with the management of people-related costs, ensuring they align with budget and financial plans.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Extensive HR experience, ideally with HR qualifications and experience in administrative or operational roles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to support efficient documentation and reporting.

Proactive and self-driven mindset, with strong organization and planning abilities to ensure effective execution of people-related processes.

Business-level communication skills in Japanese and English (written and verbal) to facilitate collaboration across teams.

Ability to work in a multinational environment, with experience managing stakeholders across multiple geographies.

Strong knowledge of Japan employment law, ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Familiarity with the Japan regulatory regime for Financial Services is a plus.
