About the Role
As a Payment, Cash & VOSTRO Service Operations Lead, you will work closely with the Head to lead and strengthen Japan’s core operational services across payments, deposits, Vostro servicing, and other essential client supporting activities. This role ensures that daily operations are stable, resilient, and consistently reliable, supporting the delivery of high quality services to institutional clients.

What will your day look like?
As a Payment, Cash & VOSTRO Service Operations Lead you will;
- Control of operating actual losses and near miss events, and internal operating failures for internal departments
- Conduct business in accordance with the laws, regulations and adopted codes
- Promote awareness of operating risk across the departments
- Regularly check performance and operational capability of teams and staff members to ensure no impact to day to day operations and maintain customer service excellence
- Monitor and control outsourced items managed by Hubs for each department
- Control BAU efficiency and maintain performance stability within the team
- Monitor team capacity and suggest/deliver solutions to improve efficiency and support new tasks
- Manage system and market changes and align with global processes where possible
- Ensure necessary governance and controls are in place for local unique systems or market practices
- Adapt NFR to strengthen governance and risk management
- Lead and coordinate operational enhancement initiatives, system changes and cross functional projects
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Strong knowledge of operations, instruments and processes, especially on PCO & Deposits products – especially SWIFT
- Analytical skills coupled with problem solving capability
- Business level English and Japanese language skills (written and verbal) — required to engage with internal stakeholders and clients
- Proven ability to work in a team, demonstrate leadership, and apply an adaptive working style that welcomes change
- Extensive experience in customer facing environments
- Exposure to and thorough understanding of Risk / Assurance management
