About the Role
We are seeking a driven and client‑focused Associate to join our FX & Commodity Sales team in Japan. In this role, you will manage the full sales lifecycle—from lead generation and pipeline development through to deal execution. You will be responsible for monetising existing client relationships while proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities.
As a key contributor to the Markets business, you will support the delivery of financial and strategic objectives by providing insights, reporting, and management of performance across all aspects of the FX & Commodity Sales business.

What will your day look like?
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers and Trading to ensure a comprehensive understanding and management of the client portfolio including smooth onboarding and identifying opportunities with existing accounts.
- Maximise Tokyo FX & Commodity sales revenue (CAF + CFV) by delivering flow and derivative products to the target client base.
- Manage, generate, and be accountable for revenue performance across assigned clients.
- Build and maintain a strong network of contacts to support business growth—both through sourcing new opportunities and optimising existing relationships.
- Proactively deepen understanding of each client’s business model, financial needs, and market drivers to deliver tailored solutions.
- Serve as the primary market‑facing contact, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and representing the bank’s capabilities effectively.
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures while upholding principles of safe and fair markets.
- Comply with front‑office control checks, deal approval processes, and operational protocols to minimise processing and operational risk.
- Ensure alignment and adherence with Markets dealing and distribution mandates, suitability frameworks, governance and conduct policies, processes and standards.
- Comply fully with all relevant external regulatory requirements.

- Solid foundation in financial markets, strong curiosity in FX and Commodities, and a highly motivated mindset to continuously enhance the level of expertise.
- Experience with working in a team across multiple domestic teams and geographies.
- A strong multitasker who proactively takes on requests, delivers results efficiently, and shares know-how with the team.
- Technical knowledge in FX products (flow and non-flow).
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory framework and requirements in the countries ANZ Global Markets operates in.
- Strong customer focus and ability to drive results.
- Be motivated to learn and take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Good communication/interpersonal skills and command of English/Japanese.
