About the Role

As an Associate Director for Corporate Coverage in Taiwan, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Institutional Banking clients across Taiwan, with a particular focus on large technology companies and selected traditional industry sectors. This role is accountable for strengthening client engagement, enhancing wallet share through increased product utilization, and originating cross-border opportunities by leveraging ANZ's regional and international network.
You will identify strategic growth opportunities within existing relationships, drive new client acquisition, and deliver sustainable revenue growth through a coordinated coverage approach. In addition, you will support the development and execution of the Taiwan Corporate Coverage strategy, ensuring the business achieves its objectives across growth, profitability, governance, operational excellence, and risk management.

What will your day look like?

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:      

 

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients, developing deep and trusted relationships with key decision-makers while maintaining a strong understanding of clients' business strategies, financial performance, and banking requirements. 
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities across lending, transaction banking, financial markets, sustainable finance, and other Institutional Banking products and services. 
  • Expand wallet share through proactive client engagement, effective account planning, and the delivery of tailored banking solutions that address clients' evolving needs. 
  • Originate new business opportunities within existing relationships and through targeted acquisition of prospective clients aligned with the bank's strategic priorities. 
  • Collaborate closely with product partners, credit, risk, and ANZ's regional and international network to deliver integrated solutions and facilitate cross-border business opportunities. 
  • Lead client dialogue and strategic discussions, positioning the bank as a trusted adviser and long-term banking partner. 
  • Maintain a strong focus on portfolio quality through disciplined risk management, credit stewardship, and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Prepare and execute client account plans, monitor performance against revenue and growth objectives, and identify actions to strengthen relationship returns. 
  • Support the execution of business initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the Taiwan Corporate Coverage franchise. 
  • Demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior team members, sharing best practices, fostering collaboration across teams, and contributing to a high-performance culture.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Extensive experience in corporate banking, institutional banking, or financial services, with a proven track record in relationship management, business development, and client coverage. 
  • Strong understanding of a broad range of banking products and services, with the ability to originate, structure, and deliver value-added financial solutions tailored to clients' strategic and financing needs. 
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to balance business growth objectives with sound credit judgement and prudent risk management practices. 
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to assess corporate financial performance, identify key value drivers, and evaluate strategic business opportunities. 
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior corporate executives and internal partners. 
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across product, risk, and coverage teams to deliver integrated client solutions. 
  • Previous experience covering large corporate clients, particularly within Taiwan's technology sector, would be advantageous. 
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is preferred to support engagement with local and international stakeholders.
