About the Role


As an Associate Director, Agency Services Australia in Corporate Finance, Institutional division, you'll be responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of your own portfolio and for the quote / pitch / win and on-boarding of new transactions.
You will manage transactions within your own portfolio to ensure highest quality delivery and you will work at the direction of the Head of Agency/Director Agency Services to ensure a coordinated and efficient approach across the business in accordance with BU processes and procedures and across geographies.

You will identify efficiencies for the benefit of the overall business and build & maintain relationships with business stakeholders (internal and external) by encouraging and developing early engagement.

What will your day look like?

 

As an Associate Director, Agency Services Australia, you will:

• Ensure ASA delivers or surpasses target financial outcomes (consistent with Institutional’s goals)
• Ensure efficient use of asset allocation and  management 
• Contribute to the maximisation of returns on ASA through the provision of insights on the performance and trends of the loan book 
• Ensure that ASA is fit for purpose and that the returns generated by ASA are appropriate for risks being taken 
• Leadership of customer-centric ASA focus including alignment of ASA to customer needs, requirements, suitability and simplification
• Drive best in class ASA offering and timely delivery of innovative solutions that support strategic business objectives 
• Management of self, and supervision of the end-to-end processes for junior staff members in ASA to ensure the business is in compliance with product policies and procedures and external regulations  
• Role model and promote the ANZ values and New Ways of Leading
• Create a culture that drives performance, individual wellbeing and  the ASA and CF strategy
• Continuous productive engagement with internal and external partners and stakeholders, including APLMA, Relationship, Risk, Treasury, Finance, Legal, Operations, Op Risk and Compliance
• Drive best practice in risk management across ASA 
• Responsibility for ensuring self and supervision of local junior staff members to meet required risk and regulatory standards
• Supporting BU Head to ensure ASA and CF strategy and business activity is aligned to risk appetite 
• Supporting BU Head to Monitor and manage ASA performance, exceptions and review of risk appetite 
• Support ANZ and its Accountable person to meet the BEAR Accountability Obligations by executing on specific functional responsibilities   

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:  

• Loan origination, deal structuring and negotiating expertise with deep experience in structured products and complex lending structures
• Critical thinking and flexibility for rapid problem solving and decision making
• Building and maintaining personal relationships (Customer, lender, staff and internal stakeholder), with strong interpersonal, presentation and internal and external marketing skills 
• Strong understanding of the technical, legal, commercial and reputational aspects
• Strong comprehension of drivers of financial performance and business management
• Strong data analysis and financial modelling skills
