About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

At ANZ, our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive. We bring this to life by supporting the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers—helping them achieve incredible things, whether that’s buying a home, building a business, or planning for the future.

As a Wellbeing and Workers Compensation Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our people through both work related and non work related health matters. You’ll manage end to end workers compensation claims, including the management of the claim and supporting return to work rehabilitation, alongside non work related health and medical cases - always with a strong focus on care, clarity and outcomes.

You’ll take accountability for delivering best practice case management and an exceptional employee experience, providing thoughtful advice and guidance, navigating solutions, and escalating complex or unresolved matters where required. A strong focus on compliance will be essential, ensuring all file management and decision making align with obligations under the SRC Act and internal governance standards. Continuous improvement will be a key part of how you work, ensuring our approach remains effective, efficient and genuinely supportive of our people.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

Role Type: 9 Months Fixed Term
Role Location: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide
Work Hours: 40 hours / week (Full Time)

What will your day look like?

  • Receiving, prioritising and resolving employee queries and cases in line with the Wellbeing & Workers Compensation team’s mission, service standards, and scope.
  • Understanding business needs and delivering seamless, end‑to‑end employee experiences.
  • Managing and resolving case-specific issues, always keeping the employee at the centre while applying relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Contributing to strategic discussions, offering insights and participating in actions on complex or emerging matters.
  • Using internal systems and platforms effectively to ensure accurate case documentation, compliance, and reporting.
  • Assessing and determining claims in accordance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
  • Communicating proactively and professionally with employees, stakeholders, and service providers to support timely case progression.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of external stakeholders, such as rehabilitation and return‑to‑work consultants, to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams to drive positive outcomes aligned with organisational values and the employee experience.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, sharing insights and supporting enhancements to processes, procedures, and team practices.
  • Working as a supportive team member, assisting colleagues and contributing to a positive, solutions‑focused team culture.

What will you bring?

To thrive in this role, you’ll ideally bring many of the following:

•    Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
•    Demonstrated experience building collaborative, trusted relationships and communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
•    The ability to communicate with empathy while balancing multiple factors to deliver fair, meaningful outcomes
•    Experience supporting and managing people with health and medical conditions
•    A tertiary qualification in a health related discipline
•    A certificate IV in Personal Injury Management
•    Experience working within a Comcare self insurance environment
•    Commitment to working as part of a team and sharing team responsibilities
