About the Role
As a Transformation Lead for Engineering and Platforms in our Architecture & Engineering tribe, you’ll be at the forefront of aligning multiple complex technical initiatives, building a cohesive capability across engineering, data, tooling, testing, and innovation. The role's purpose is to align these multiple deliveries into a targeted sequence and ensure implementation is seamless and effective across the organisation. In conjunction with the technical deliveries adoption and benefit realisation is paramount. Provisioning a scalable communication strategy will be pivotal to the program's success.
This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will quickly gain the trust of the engineering community that enables and operates these services for ANZ daily. As ANZ embraces and accelerates its modern engineering practices, you will guide and deliver this transformative journey to over 7,000 engineers across the bank.

What will your day look like?
- Delivering a cohesive and comprehensive strategy with deliverables and milestones.
- Ability to curate the engineering and platforms journey through effective and planned story telling.
- Establishing and maintaining a technical narrative for the enterprise.
- Drive and manage the execution of transformation programs, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and change management, promoting the adoption of new processes, tools, and technologies.
- Develop and maintaining collaborative trusted advisor relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
- Develop and curate a technical communication and education program for the enterprise to adopt newly developed technologies.
- Provide day to day coaching, mentoring and development of the full delivery lifecycle withing engineering and platforms (currently a team of +150)
- Ensure programs remain within financial budget approval
- Technically proficient with engineering tooling and the data space
What will you bring?
- Ability to align technical narrative to business objectives
- Strategic planning and continual delivery mindset
- Highly proficient in leading by influencing, managing stakeholder relationships, expectations, and requirements.
- Identify and embed emerging technologies that add value
- Ability to communicate and guide strategic direction to a wide variety of technical, management and executive levels, including ExCo and Board level in both written and verbal presentations. This includes an ability to explain complex technical situations in plain business language to a variety of stakeholders.
- Increase engagement of stakeholders and delivery partners to deliver outcomes that matter
- Promote and create an inclusive culture and workplace
- Extensive experience in technical vendor management, including support of commercial contract renewals, sourcing of new vendors, analysis of vendor fit to solution requirements, and during major programs of change.
- Understanding of code, build, deploy, test landscape
- Previous experience designing and delivering strategy artefacts and leading the work that follows successful endorsement
- Transformation program leadership in an enterprise environment
