About the Role
As Financial Crime Manager, you will lead and enhance the end-to-end financial crime lifecycle, providing risk, control, and regulatory assurance.
The role includes supporting uplift of financial crime management, overseeing the Retail Financial Crime COE Line 1 Assurance team, and ensuring alignment across assurance activities. You will embed best-practice risk visibility across the value chain, provide expert advice to Retail, and foster strong collaboration with Line 2. The position also drives capability uplift and delivers strategic initiatives to optimise financial crime risk in line with business objectives.

What will your day look like?
- Support the business with managing risks and obligations for AML/CTF, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery & Corruption
- Divisional risk appetite – setting, reviewing and supporting the setting of appropriate metrics and thresholds
- Governance and Reporting to various Risk and Compliance Committees
- Provide guidance and support to the business on the implementation of Financial Crime regulatory change initiatives ensuring adequate consideration of risks and obligations introduced
- Financial Crime event, issue and breach management
- Leads the program of Financial Crime training and capability uplifts for Retail employees relating to Financial Crime
- Co-ordinate and support Financial Crime Product, Channel and Enterprise Wide Risk Assessments across Retail
- Provide support on responses to regulatory requests for information, working with Line 2, Legal etc
- Lead and foster strong collaboration with stakeholders in the business, Portfolio Assurance, Line 2 and Line 3 teams to strengthen risk awareness and responses
- Build a high performing, engaging team environment that looks to foster high standards, role clarity, development and flexibility across the function
What will you bring?
- Strong experience in Risk, Audit, Legal or Compliance.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Legal or Finance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large scale governance structures.
- Strong communication skills – exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex governance and reporting matters to senior leaders and key stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of the business, including its operational, risk and commercial aspects to support informed decision making.
- Demonstrated experience managing governance activities for official committees/forums.
- Strong demonstrable stakeholder management skills with experience engaging with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
