About the Role
As a Senior Lending Assistant within ANZ Private Bank, you'll play a key role supporting ANZ's highest net worth clients and family groups with their lending needs. Working closely with Private Bankers, Lending Specialists, Credit teams and Operations, you will help deliver a seamless end-to-end lending experience for clients.
This is a hybrid role that combines lending fulfilment, deal execution and documentation management with credit analysis and credit paper preparation. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of lending outcomes from initial application through to settlement while developing and applying credit skills to assist with the preparation of credit submissions and risk assessments.
You will gain exposure to complex client structures including companies, trusts and high-net-worth individuals, providing a strong foundation for those looking to build a long-term career in lending, relationship banking or credit.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Lending Assistant, you will be accountable for supporting the preparation, fulfilment and execution of lending outcomes through a combination of operational excellence and credit support activities.
Lending Fulfilment & Execution
- Manage end-to-end lending fulfilment activities from credit approval through to settlement
- Prepare and coordinate documentation requests, including system setup and workflow management
- Liaise with stakeholders including Bankers, Lending Specialists, Operations, Legal and Credit teams to ensure lending outcomes are delivered efficiently
- Track approved conditions and ensure all requirements have been satisfied prior to drawdown.
- Support the accurate and timely settlement of approved lending facilities
- Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure documentation is complete, compliant and right first time
- Identify and escalate documentation, settlement or operational risks where appropriate
- Support audit readiness through accurate file management and record keeping
Credit Analysis & Lending Support
- Assist with the preparation of credit applications afor retail and wealth lending clients
- Gather, analyse and interpret client financial information including income verification, asset and liability positions, trust structures and company financials.
- Prepare financial analysis and serviceability assessments
- Assist with the structuring and presentation of lending requests to support client objectives while meeting ANZ risk requirements
- Conduct preliminary analysis and identify key risks, mitigants and policy considerations for lending submissions
- Support credit quality by ensuring submissions are complete, accurate and aligned with policy requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lending projects and process enhancements across the lending team
Performance Expectations
- Deliver exceptional client and stakeholder experiences through timely and accurate execution of lending outcomes
- Collaborate effectively across Frontline, Lending, Credit and Operations teams
- Balance customer outcomes with prudent risk management and regulatory obligations
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for quality, turnaround times and client satisfaction
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Previous experience in lending operations, lending support, credit execution or banking
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical capability and ability to interpret financial information
- Understanding of lending processes, documentation requirements and risk fundamentals
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups
- Experience supporting or preparing credit applications
- Exposure to residential, commercial or wealth lending
- Understanding of financial statements, trust structures and complex client arrangements
- Experience analysing income, assets, liabilities and servicing positions
- Demonstrated ability to identify key risks and support risk-based decision making
