About the Role
Role Type: Permanent, full time - this role will be offered as a Senior Associate or Associate Director, depending on the experience of the successful candidate
Role Location: 242 Pitt Street, Sydney
As Senior Associate / Associate Director, Debt Syndicate, your primary focus will be:
- Execution of A$ Bond primary market issues
- Providing origination support for both domestic and offshore issuers (in conjunction with offshore origination teams)
- Collaborating with key stakeholders in sales (domestic & offshore) and trading to leverage insights to pitch for A$ mandates.
- Supporting the growth and development of junior Associates and Analysts in the team.
What will your day look like?
You will be accountable for:
- All aspects of deal syndication from mandate to post-trade support.
- Developing distribution strategies based on market conditions and investor appetite.
- Providing market colour, trade ideas, and execution guidance.
- Preparing and delivering transaction updates, market briefings, and pricing recommendations
- Pro-actively engaging with key internal stakeholders (trading, legal, compliance, market risk and relationship managers)
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Supporting offshore origination teams with pitch materials and market intelligence.
- Executing A$ primary market issues (floating and fixed rate)
- Managing transactions within risk management framework and control processes.
What will you bring?
‘Must have’ knowledge, skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years+ experience in A$ bond syndication, debt capital markets, or related front office roles.
- Deep understanding of primary market dynamics, pricing, investor behaviour, and execution logistics.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and communicate market data clearly.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and resilience in fast-moving environments.
