About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

The Senior Associate, Operational Risk role exists to support second line oversight of non‑financial and operational risks across the Business & Private Banking value chain. The role focuses on specific business segments and customer journeys (including SME, Commercial and Private Banking), contributing to the independent review, challenge and advice on risk identification, risk assessments, and control design and effectiveness across processes, systems and data.

The role supports the delivery of risk insights, reporting and governance activities, helping to identify control weaknesses, customer impacts and emerging risks across lending, onboarding and servicing activities. It works closely with first line stakeholders and senior risk colleagues to promote adherence to enterprise risk and compliance frameworks and consistent application of risk practices.

Working under guidance and applying sound judgement, the role contributes to risk analysis, documentation and governance outputs, and supports escalation of risks or control gaps where required. The role also supports initiatives to strengthen risk culture and accountability across Business & Private Banking, while maintaining appropriate independence from first line ownership of controls, remediation delivery and operational execution.
