About the Role

 

The purpose of this role is to lead ANZ's Commercial Broker business within the region, driving sustainable growth through strong broker and aggregator partnerships, effective execution of the broker strategy, and the delivery of superior customer and business outcomes.

 

Leading a team of Broker Account Managers (BAMs), the Regional Director is responsible for growing high-quality customer acquisition through accredited commercial brokers across Business and Private Bank. The role focuses on building ANZ's market presence, strengthening broker advocacy, increasing referral volumes and enhancing the effectiveness of the broker distribution channel within the region.

 

Working closely with Relationship Managed, Portfolio Managed and Specialist banking teams, the Regional Director ensures broker-originated opportunities are effectively converted into enduring customer relationships and whole-of-wallet banking solutions. The role is responsible for fostering strong collaboration between brokers, bankers and support teams to create a seamless customer experience and deliver targeted growth outcomes.

 

The Regional Director will drive regional execution of national broker initiatives, embed best practice broker engagement and continuously improve channel performance through data-driven insights, operational excellence and strong risk management. Through effective leadership, market expertise and stakeholder influence, the role will build a high-performing team and broker network that strengthens ANZ's position as a leading banking partner within the commercial intermediary market.

What will your day look like?

 

As a Regional Director - Broker Partnerships, you will:

  • Accountable for achieving origination, settlement, revenue and portfolio growth targets through the Commercial Broker channel
  • Build, maintain and enhance relationships with brokers, aggregators and referral partners to strengthen ANZ's market position and referral performance
  • Increase broker engagement, accreditation, active broker participation and referral volumes across commercial lending and asset finance
  • Improve onboarding and ongoing management of commercial brokers, aggregator relationships and educating brokers on ANZ’s products and processes
  • Interpret enterprise and divisional plans to deliver alignment with priorities, market opportunities and growth objectives
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Broker Account Managers to deliver strong customer, commercial and risk outcomes
  • Improve broker advocacy and satisfaction while fostering strong partnerships with bankers, sales leaders and key internal stakeholders
  • Partner with frontline banking teams to maximise conversion of broker-originated opportunities and deliver whole-of-wallet customer solutions
  • Ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance, complaints management, broker lifecycle management and operational risk controls
  • Embed a strong risk and conduct culture, ensuring adherence to ANZ's non-financial risk obligations, policies and industry standards
  • Build ANZ's profile through active engagement with brokers, aggregators, industry forums and key market stakeholders
  • Lead through change, driving continuous improvement and simplification
  • Lead divisional, segment and strategic initiatives that improve broker experience, channel performance, productivity and business outcomes
  • Accountable for fostering a strong risk, conduct and customer-focused culture consistent with ANZ values and expectations
  • Build an inclusive, high-performing and accountable team culture

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Deep understanding of broker, aggregator and intermediary markets, including broker acquisition, engagement, performance and channel strategy
  • Demonstrated success identifying and executing growth opportunities through strategic partnerships, market engagement and distribution channels
  • Ability to cultivate collaborative, customer-focused and high-performing teams that embrace continuous improvement and enterprise thinking
  • Strong capability to build, influence and sustain trusted relationships that deliver mutual value and long-term commercial outcomes
  • Strong understanding of risk, regulatory and compliance requirements, with a proven ability to embed effective controls and risk culture

  • Strong analytical capability, leveraging data, market insights and performance metrics to inform strategy and drive outcomes
  • Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to deliver tailored solutions that create value for customers and the bank

  • Proven ability to coach, develop and inspire high-performing teams, building capability, accountability and succession strength
