About the Role
As a Manager in our Regulatory Risk Management Team, you will play a key role in uplifting non-financial risk (NFR) controls and governance across the Financial Markets Regulations and Rulebooks risk theme. This includes a strong focus on enhancing regulatory operations and controls to ensure robust compliance and risk management.
You will work closely with control owners and operators to identify, document, and strengthen regulatory control coverage, particularly in relation to compliance approaches for trading venues and clearing houses. Your expertise will help shape a more resilient and transparent risk environment, contributing to the bank’s broader regulatory and operational excellence.

Role Location: Melbourne, VIC
What will your day look like?
- Being a key driver of the uplift of controls and documentation associated with financial market venue and clearing house participation requirements and rulebooks, as well as more broadly, OTC derivative markets regulation.
- Identifying gaps and opportunities in existing regulatory controls and governance frameworks.
- Ensuring controls and approaches to compliance are documented in ANZ’s Non-Financial Risk hub.
- Assisting control teams to develop and maintain appropriate documentation to evidence compliance with relevant regulations and rulebooks, including policies and procedures.
- Ensuring stakeholder transparency on risks and issues, through the appropriate use and publishing of KRIs and other MIS.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across Financial Markets, Risk, and Compliance to ensure alignment and effective implementation of uplift activities.
- Providing subject matter expertise on regulatory risk management and controls uplift.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in regulatory or operational risk management, controls uplift, and documentation within a financial services environment or proven experience in owning or operating control processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate between compliance requirements and operational processes.
- Strong documentation skills, to identify what information is required for best-in-class procedures and an ability to help control owners and operators to achieve that.
- Familiarity with financial markets, products and / or how a markets division operates.
- Proven ability to work across multiple operational, governance and compliance teams and stakeholders, both onshore and offshore.
