About the Role

Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic cloud data, classification, and reporting capabilities (Rapid application development, AWS data pipelines). Lead feature development, project execution, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement (change management, RACI, quality gates).

Location: Sydney or Melbourne

What will your day look like?

• Lead design of interactive reporting, dashboards, data curation, and reconciliation controls (checksum, drift detection).
• Extend Python/Streamlit frameworks (performance, data quality, auditability, scalability).
• Drive adoption of advanced analytics /AI.
• Manage project delivery (prioritisation, sprint planning, change controls).
• Own the technical roadmap
• Coordinate cross-stream impacts.
• Mentor junior engineers; enforce coding standards, test coverage, review discipline.

What will you bring?

• 6–8+ years in data engineering / analytics within financial markets (Rates, Credit/Bonds, FX an advantage).
• Proven delivery of cloud data products.
• Strong SQL/Athena query optimisation; view/schema design; data contract governance.
• AWS proficiency (S3, Athena, IAM basics).
• Solid Git/GitHub workflow (branching strategy, protected branches, release tagging).
• Advanced Jira/Confluence usage (epics, stories, ACs, change templates, RACI integration).
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and business audiences.
• Experience with regulatory or stakeholder reporting (trade classification, audit trails).
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks.
• Tertiary qualification in IT/Data/Engineering; financial services background preferred.
