As a Manager, Corporate Advisory, you are to contribute to the successful growth of ANZ’s Global Corporate Advisory business by supporting the origination and execution of profitable and franchise enhancing M&A transactions and strategic advisory services to clients.  In particular, your role will provide expert support in the areas of financial modelling, company financial and peer industry analysis and transaction execution through day-to-day project management. 

 

As a Manager, Corporate Advisory, your key focus areas include but are not limited to:

  • Financial: Working collaboratively with peers and other Relationship and Product teams across the bank so as to maximise the M&A team’s origination and execution success

  • Customer: The ability to apply your skills to analyse market and industry dynamics and support the team in delivering transactions for the client.  

  • Process: An underlying drive to reduce inconsistencies, risks, and errors in the surrounding work environment through monitoring, checking and compliance with standards and procedures.  

  • People: Teamwork- In addition to being able to work independently when required, an integral part of the role is to work with other Corporate Advisory team members to ultimately support the Advisory team deliver the transaction for the client. The role is client facing with day-to-day interaction with the client and other transactions advisors such as legal, tax and financial professionals. Building relationships and networks will be highly valued to achieving business objectives. 

  • Risk/Compliance/Behaviours: Contribute to business development initiatives and ensure that appropriate steps are taken to mitigate risks to ensure high standards of project execution and client advice is delivered.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Bachelors' degree in a relevant field (i.e., Finance, Commerce, Law, Engineering) from a leading university; Chartered Accountant, Certified Practicing Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, MBA is not required but would be highly regarded.

  • Very strong financial modelling/valuation and analytical skills, including DCF (discounted cash flows), LBO (leveraged buyouts), EPS (earnings per share), trading comps, precedent transactions, accretion/dilution, value creation analysis, three statement models and combined pro forma models.

  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature manner.

  • Strong experience in Investment Banking, Capital Markets, or a Corporate Finance related role. Experience in M&A is strongly preferred.

  • Experience/Sector knowledge and an interest in the general industrials is highly desirable. Thorough knowledge of corporate finance and accounting, as well as understanding of legal and tax aspects related to M&A transactions.

  • Experience in managing the day-to-day execution including on line data rooms and knowledge of the different types of M&A processes (sell-side, buy-side, structured transactions, fairness opinions).

  • Experience in managing projects or processes with attention to detail and strong time management capabilities
