About the Role

The role of Manager, Accountability & Insights, is to provide expert investigative insights and analysis, to support on accountability matters received from the relevant Divisional Accountability Group (DAG) to the Accountability & Insights Team. Reporting to the Lead, Accountability & Insights in a newly formed team, this role ensures that accountability reviews are conducted in alignment with ANZ’s values, policies, and standards, promoting fairness and consistency in the application of accountability measures. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for consolidating insights from reviews, developing case studies and other knowledge-sharing materials, and facilitating the effective distribution of these learnings across the organisation.

What will your day look like?

This role will be accountable for:

  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of decision frameworks and methodologies for learning and accountability reviews, and ensuring that these frameworks and methodologies prioritise both learning and accountability from an investigative perspective
  • Determining the appropriate type of accountability and insight reviews (based on complexity of the matter)
  • Collaborating with external advisors, as required, to support complex cases
  • Working with the relevant Division / Function to scope and gather information required to conduct the accountability and insight reviews, including any root cause and other analysis already conducted by the Division
  • Undertaking and providing preliminary findings reports on accountability and insight reviews for Relevant Events and providing input to determine appropriate recommendations, including for Enterprise Accountability Group (EAG) endorsement
  • Providing an investigative-focused perspective during learning and reflection sessions to ensure learnings are fully understood
  • Developing and delivering training programs (as appropriate) on the revised learning and accountability process and learnings based on reviews (e.g., case studies)
  • Building strong, transparent, and collaborative relationships with stakeholders to foster trust and promote a culture of learning and accountability

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in workplace investigations, including procedural and substantive fairness
  • Expertise in drafting investigation reports, applying the rules of evidence, and conducting fact-finding
  • High degree of integrity and ethical judgment, with a commitment to fairness and adherence to ANZ’s policies and values
  • Analytical skills, including data interrogation to create meaningful, actionable insights that drive continuous improvement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft high-quality investigation reports and present findings clearly
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment to analyse complex situations, identify root causes and synthesise findings
  • Effective relationship management and influencing skills to build trust with stakeholders.
