About the Role
As the Executive Director, PCM Sales - Public Sector, you will lead the strategic growth and execution of cash management solutions across the Public Sector segment with a strong focus on retaining, deepening and growing these strategic partnerships through innovative transaction banking solutions and trusted client engagement.
In addition, the role provides coverage of key Universities and Federal Government agencies, requiring a leader who can develop long-term client strategies, identify growth opportunities and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the public sector ecosystem.
This is a high-profile leadership role that combines strategic account management, client origination and team leadership to drive sustainable revenue growth, deepen customer advocacy and strengthen ANZ's position as a leading transaction banking partner to the Public Sector.

What will your day look like?
As an Executive Director, you are accountable for:
- Developing and executing the national PCM strategy for the Public Sector segment, driving sustainable growth and leveraging ANZ’s network and solution capabilities.
- Leading the strategic growth agenda, providing thought leadership, and representing PCM within the Institutional Public Sector Coverage Leadership Team.
- Driving client origination, account planning, and solution delivery through close collaboration with Coverage, Product, Digital, and Technology partners.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to Public Sector clients, providing expertise in cash management, treasury, and working capital solutions.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the public sector landscape, including government priorities, funding models, procurement frameworks and industry trends.
- Use sector insights to shape customer conversations and position ANZ as a leading transaction banking partner to the Public Sector.
- Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing national sales team while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and inclusion.
- Managing portfolio performance and risk by driving pipeline growth, revenue and deposit outcomes, cross-sell opportunities, client retention, and adherence to ANZ risk and compliance standards.
What will you bring?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Deep transaction banking expertise with strong strategic thinking and a thorough understanding of customer needs, payment technologies, and credit and operational risk considerations.
- Strong knowledge of the Public Sector segment, with the ability to identify growth opportunities and drive long-term industry-focused strategies.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of leading high-performing teams, influencing outcomes, and fostering talent development.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the enterprise.
- Strong capability to navigate change, ambiguity, and complexity while providing clear direction and driving execution.
- Retention and growth of ANZ's existing State Government relationships.
- Expansion of ANZ's market share across Universities and Federal Government agencies.
- Delivery of revenue, deposit and customer growth objectives.
