About the Role


As Credit Coach, you will play a critical role in elevating credit capability across the lending network by coaching Specialist Lenders and Lending Area Managers (LAMs) to strengthen their credit knowledge and decision-making. 


As a subject matter expert, the Credit Coach leads the adoption of new tools and processes, facilitates scalable train-the-trainer programs, and supports the resolution of complex lending scenarios through collaborative workshops. By proactively identifying risk indicators and championing compliance with lending policies, the Credit Coach fosters a strong credit culture, mitigates risk, enhances deal quality, and drives exceptional customer outcomes. 

Role location: Open to Sydney or Melbourne location

What will your day look like?


As Credit Coach you will: 

  • Champion the customer experience and guide Lending Area Managers to deliver exceptional service at each step of the home buyer’s journey.
  • Support leaders to understand, monitor and improve key customer metrics.
  • Embedding best practice that drives customer experience nationally to support our customer centric culture
  • Performance consulting with Lending Area Managers to help them diagnose opportunities for their own and the team’s development to improve their overall Home Loan performance. Coaches will focus on the full Home Buyers’ journey.
  • Implementation & embedding of capability initiatives that drive performance
  • Use tools available to provide data & insights to Regional Managers and Lending Area Managers that help drive Home Loan performance within the teams they support
  • Implementation & embedding of capability initiatives that drive performance
  • Analyse metrics and trends to understand where coaching can be improved. Train leaders on performance indicators and empower them to understand and uplift their own capability.
  • Deliver to a coaching pathway that increases the leadership capability of Lending Area Managers to support their own team delivering better customer experiences. 
  • Working with Lending Area Managers to build their change management capability as well as supporting successful embedding of change nationally. 
  • Develop leaders in their lending leadership operational capabilities, helping them to identify and progress next steps, areas for growth and development opportunities.
  • Develop leaders’ capability to support embedding of learning to increase speed to competence nationally
  • Identify, manage and mitigate non-financial risks (NFR) and input into NFR transformation activities

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience: 

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders, customers, and internal teams to drive collaboration, engagement, and long-term value.

  • Effectively manage and optimise the end-to-end sales pipeline, ensuring consistent lead generation, accurate forecasting, and timely progression of opportunities to achieve business targets.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and capability development to uplift team performance, foster growth, and build a high-performing, customer-centric culture.

  • Monitor, assess, and drive individual and team performance through clear goal setting, regular feedback, and data-driven insights to achieve strategic outcomes.

  • Apply strong analytical thinking to identify challenges, assess risks, and implement practical, solution-focused approaches in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of home lending risk frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all activities are compliant and aligned to governance standards.

  • Bring deep and comprehensive experience across home lending, including business development and customer experience, supported by relevant accreditations to guide and enable team success.

  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage business risk within the Division and across the end-to-end value chain, ensuring sustainable and compliant business outcomes.
