About the Role

 

As Communications Manager, you will develop and deliver effective, engaging and aligned communications for the Business & Private Bank, driving awareness and engagement among employees and other key stakeholders. You will deliver communications that bring Business & Private Bank’s strategic priorities to life, with a focus on driving clarity on the division’s vision, goals and objectives through crafting the right message for the right channels and ensuring employees understand how their work contributes to the bank’s broader strategy.  You will also seek and identify external opportunities to lift the profile of Business & Private Bank and its executives, articulate the division’s strategy, and profile customers.  A highly skilled communications professional and curious self-starter you will stay abreast of external insights, best practice and emerging trends in strategic communications.

What will your day look like?

 

This role is accountable for:

  • Working with senior leaders and business stakeholders to plan and deliver a range of internal and external communication initiatives that align with the division’s strategic priorities.
  • Leading the delivery of innovative, targeted communications among key internal audiences including development of content for Weekly Wrap, employee webcasts, town halls and Viva Engage campaigns.
  • Producing high-quality leader communications including messaging, talking points and supporting briefing material.
  • Planning, identifying opportunities and developing written and multimedia content with subject matter experts for ANZ’s owned channels including ANZ’s intranet, LinkedIn Max and bluenotes.
  • Working collaboratively with fellow Communications and Public Affairs team members and stakeholders to plan, deliver and/or oversee key communication plans executing ANZ’s strategy and priorities.
  • Identifying opportunities to lift the profile of Business & Private Bank and its executives, articulate the division’s strategy, and profile customers, working with the External Communications team to bring those opportunities to life.
  • Using feedback, research, analytics, surveys and other data to extract key insights to continuously improve communication and inform future communications plans.
  • Developing innovative approaches to engage employees and deliver relevant, high-impact and effective communications.

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Proactive and creative communications expert with leadership communication and content development experience: highly skilled in the development and delivery of impactful strategic communications. 
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels across the organisation. 
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and evolving context while navigating ambiguity.  
  • Strategic thinker: outcomes focused, strong problem-solving capability and creative in finding solutions.  
  • Excellent writer and editor: can write in multiple styles and for a broad range of channels and situations.  
  • Exercises sound judgement: makes sound and timely decisions in an ambiguous or crisis environments, calm under pressure. 
  • Strong project management: ability to produce, consult and follow through on communications plans and strategies (incl. digital and social). Works to deliver outcomes within set timeframes and agreed standards, overcoming obstacles where necessary. 
  • Natural team player: collaborates to deliver results and has a demonstrated ability to develop relationships at all levels and across geographies.  
  • Broadens perspective: curious about new information, new ideas and diverse perspectives. Continually develops understanding  
    of ANZ’s business, financial services industry and best practices in communications.
