About the Role

As a Business Analyst in our Strategic Delivery team at Suncorp Bank, you will play a key role in supporting remediation efforts across the bank, helping to identify and resolve issues that impact customers.  You will be responsible for analysing data, forming insights, and contributing to solutions that mitigate risk and improve customer outcomes.  

We are looking for a capable and motivated Business Analyst who is skilled in data analysis, customer impact assessment and remediation support. You should be comfortable working with complex datasets, identifying customer cohorts, and helping to clarify root causes through clear and structured analysis. Proficiency in Excel and other data tools is important, as is the ability to work collaboratively with various teams. 

You will be supported by subject matter experts and leadership while contributing to the data analysis and remediation strategy. A key part of this role involves working closely with stakeholders, including Data Services, business teams and Risk and Compliance to ensure the effective execution of remediation plans. You will also help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements throughout remediation activities.  

This role requires someone who is proactive, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities and be self-guided in a fast-paced environment. Role Type: 12-month Fixed Term contract
Role Location:  Brisbane QLD or Sydney NSW
Work Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

What will your day look like?

As a Business Analyst, you will:

• Support data analysis efforts to identify customer impact and determine affected cohorts
• Assist in forming data driven insights to support remediation strategies and root cause analysis
• Utilise Excel and other data tools to manipulate and interpret datasets
• Collaborate with Data Services, Risk and Compliance, and business stakeholders to drive remediation efforts
• Contribute to data driven decision making, ensuring clarity and accuracy in insights 
• Build positive working relationships with stakeholders to support execution of remediation plans
• Work with subject matter experts and leadership to align remediation activities with business priorities
• Help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in all remediation activities
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly through documentation and presentations
• Analyse trends in data to help identify broader issues and opportunities for improvement
• Assists in implementing remediation actions and tracking progress
• Develop an approach to running key stakeholder information gathering sessions and communicate findings and recommendations effectively through reports, presentations, and documentation
• Bridge business needs and technical solutions by gathering requirements, defining specification, and ensuring successful solution delivery
• Drive agile processes, managing user stories, backlog prioritisation and sprint planning activities
• Understanding the Suncorp Bank business strategy, key systems/process, and critical issues/constraints related to remediation
• Documenting “as is” and “to be” processes, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally with exposure to remediation or data focused projects 
• Financial services experience s highly desirable 
• Understanding of cohort analysis, customer impact assessment, root cause identification and remediation planning 
• Strong analytical skills and experience working with datasets 
• Proficiency in Excel and other relevant data tools
• Good presentation skills- confident in addressing and presenting to multiple types of stakeholders 
• Ability to contribute to clear, actionable remediation strategies
• Solid business acumen and interest in solving problems with data 
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement skills
• Demonstrated ability to hit the ground running and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working within Agile methodologies
