The Australian Business Growth Fund (ABGF) is an investment fund investing in small to medium-sized Australian businesses looking to accelerate their growth. ANZ and other Australian domestic banks are investors in the fund.
About the Role
As the Lead and key ANZ internal stakeholder for the ABGF you will play an important role in connecting the right ANZ customers with the ABGF investment team. This will require an understanding of the ABGF offering and ability to effectively communicate that proposition to internal ANZ stakeholders and customers. The role will involve working closely with the ABGF team, including hosting joint events to help differentiate both ANZ and ABGF in the market.
The Client Insights team is a unique proposition that produces value accretive client and industry content to assist in distinguishing ANZ as a leading relationship bank. The ABGF investment mandate includes a focus towards key sectors of interest and the role will support these initiatives by working closely with Client Insights to produce and deliver industry content. As a result, the role will have a unique cross-over with Client Insights and be expected to utilise corporate finance and other market knowledge in developing quality client insights materials.

Role Location: Preference is for Sydney based but will consider other locations
Work Hours: Full-time, 40hrs/week
What will your day look like?
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with ABGF and ANZ Commercial Bank frontline to identify the right customers that may benefit from the ABGF funding proposition
- Running events and internal training sessions that support ANZ Commercial Bank relationship team and customers to understand the ABGF proposition. This will require understanding key concepts for identifying a business need for ABGF funding and being able to communicate this effectively
- Providing the ABGF team with introductions to the ANZ relationship team and/or customers that are identified as potentially being interested in ABGF funding
- Engagement with and support of the relationship and product teams to ensure the bank deliver best in market and client insights materials to win new business and deepen share of wallet for our existing client base
- Working with the Client Insights team to produce, distribute and the effectively use insights materials with the Diversified and Specialised Industries (DSI) relationship team and customer base
- Presenting directly to customers and at DSI functions, including providing an update on the performance, key themes and outlook for key sectors of interest
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting or related field. A Masters in Finance or CFA is not mandatory but would be valued
- An understanding of the ANZ Commercial Bank relationship processes, systems and offering would be beneficial
- Experience in building relationships across ANZ
- Demonstrated experience collaborating and communicating with a range of teams
- Conceptual thinking and an understanding of corporate finance and credit concepts, alongside strong banking product knowledge
- Highly proficient in corporate finance analysis and financial modelling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt and grasp new skills and content and the flexibility to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity
- A high degree of demonstrated initiative and lateral thinking
- Ability to synthesis information from multiple sources to produce meaningful reports, presentations and insights
- C-suite communication skills
- Willingness to present in a boardroom or event-style format to large audiences, with a proven ability considered valuable
