About the Role
As an Associate Director, Business Execution (Balance Sheet Trading, Capital Markets and COO) within Institutional Strategy & Execution, you will play a key role in executing the strategic agenda for Capital Markets, Balance Sheet Trading (BST) and the Markets COO Office. Working closely with the COO and business heads, you will help build a sustainable and high-performing business across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the United States.
The role is responsible for providing high-quality analysis, insights, performance reporting and executive materials to support business decision-making and leadership governance. You will proactively manage business priorities, support strategic and business transformation initiatives and help coordinate planning and governance forums across the desks, key enablement partners and broader stakeholder groups.

What will your day look like?
You will be accountable for:
- Driving and supporting the development and execution of growth initiatives across Capital Markets and BST, as well as process improvements and efficiencies within the Markets COO Office.
- Providing trusted advice and actionable guidance to the Business and desk heads, constructively challenging where appropriate, on the end-to-end management of the business.
- Supporting business change and non-financial risk (NFR) uplift initiatives for BST and Capital Markets in partnership with business stakeholders, the Markets COO Office and Institutional Business Execution.
- Managing and monitoring key financial metrics and non-financial performance indicators across all countries in which the business operates.
- Developing, communicating, executing and tracking business strategies, projects and initiatives that improve efficiency and embed better practice.
- Leading by example and contributing to high levels of engagement, accountability and performance across the business.
- Promoting the sharing of better practice and fostering professional, collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholder groups.
- Building credible relationships with business stakeholders, enablement partners to accelerate execution and improve collaboration across the division and Group.
- Supporting the embedding of the PACT program and NFR priorities across the business and working with NFR partners to track, monitor and coordinate follow-up actions across the businesses.
- Acting as the primary contact for business audits and, where appropriate, leading preparation for reviews and related investigations. Coordinating, tracking or owning the resolution of audit issues where relevant.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Demonstrable experience of contributing and leading by influence to align business heads and diverse stakeholders, at all seniority levels, behind strategic business initiatives or priorities.
- Growth Mindset: An agile approach to identifying emerging opportunities with the ability to deconstruct ambiguous data and translate it into actionable business plans and targets as required
- A customer focus and ability to drive change and results with a natural NFR awareness or disposition, regulatory requirements and competitor / market awareness.
- A good understanding of Financial Markets and experience or knowledge of the products traded by Balance Sheet Desk and/or experience in a similar role in a Treasury function.
- Experience and a leader of an Investment Bank / Markets operations function or front office trade will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Capital Markets and Securitisation, related deal execution and primary bond origination across Asia Pacific highly regarded.
- A sound knowledge of Australian financial regulatory framework and market requirements.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects or initiatives and working independently with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in a strategy or consulting role in investment Banking or Financial Markets
