About the Role

As an Associate Director, Business Execution (FX & Commodities & Digital) in our Institutional business, you’ll play a key role in driving the execution of strategic, operational, and regulatory priorities across FX, Commodities, and Digital, Data & Platforms. You will partner with Trading, Sales, Finance, Technology, Risk, Operations, and other enablement teams to support front-to-back delivery, strengthen governance, and enable scalable business growth.

 

The role provides analysis, insights, performance reporting, and executive materials to support business decision-making and timely leadership updates. It is also accountable for proactive issue management and delivery of key strategic and transformation initiatives, including trading venue onboarding and regulatory change. Acting as a central orchestrator, the role aligns strategy with execution, embeds operational discipline, and enhances efficiency, transparency, and risk management across the trading lifecycle.

What will your day look like?

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Monitor and analyse key financial and non-financial performance metrics, providing insights to support business performance management, decision-making, and budget delivery against revenue, cost, and return targets.
  • Support the execution of strategic and BAU initiatives, ensuring delivery within approved investment plans, cost parameters, and alignment with business growth objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Product Heads and senior stakeholders, providing business management support, constructive challenge, and strategic insights.
  • Assist in the development, communication, and execution of business strategies, business cases, growth initiatives, infrastructure enhancements, and new product launches.
  • Drive business change, digital transformation, and non-financial risk (NFR) uplift initiatives across Markets businesses, ensuring effective governance and change management practices.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Geographic, Product, Risk, and Support teams to prioritize initiatives, resolve business issues, improve collaboration, and deliver business objectives.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen controls, improve customer experience, and adopt market best practices in digital offerings.
  • Build strong relationships across business, risk, and support functions to influence outcomes, facilitate execution, and promote best practice sharing across teams.
  • Lead and support risk, compliance, audit, and governance activities, including management of NFR actions, audit reviews, issue remediation, and adherence to change management requirements.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Demonstrates experience of contributing and leading by influence to align business heads and diverse stakeholders, at all seniority levels, behind strategic business initiatives or priorities.
  • Growth Mindset: An agile approach to identifying emerging opportunities with the ability to deconstruct ambiguous data and translate it into actionable business plans and targets as required (revenue, cost or capital).
  • A strong customer focus and ability to drive change and results with a natural Non-Financial Risk (NFR) awareness or disposition, regulatory requirements and competitor/market awareness.
  • A strong understanding of Financial Markets and experience/knowledge of the products traded in Foreign Exchange and Commodities.
  • Proven ability to drive digital, data, and platform change management within financial markets, supported by strong BAU governance discipline.
  • A sound knowledge of regulatory framework and requirements in the countries ANZ Global Markets operates in.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and working independently with multiple stakeholders.
  • Maturity of approach and strong resilience and ability to cope with ambiguity.
  • Strong handle of data and analytics, tracking of customer solutions, revenues and feedback.
  • Ability to set goals and delivers results with proven experience in leading self and others when delivering large scale change, with a strong customer focus and ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a team working across multiple geographies and time zones.
