About the Role
As Associate, Debt Capital Markets (DCM) you will:
- Assist in the origination, structuring and execution of Corporate A$ MTN, US$ and USPP bonds.
- Understand client’s borrowing requirements and optimal capital structure and help develop an appropriate approach to borrowing in the debt capital markets, focusing on ANZ’s core markets, and working in partnership with the Relationship Managers.
- Assist in all aspects of origination and execution, including coordination of offering documentation, transaction approvals process, execution, settlement and market communications.

What will your day look like?
The Associate, DCM is accountable for:
- Monitoring underlying bond markets to identify opportunities for client issuance, determine investor demand and best pricing, covering clients and originating new issues.
- Preparation of pitch books, term sheets, market updates, databases, issuer and investor presentations, internal reports and desk commentaries.
- Working closely with Sales, Trading and DCM/Syndicate desks from the network to manage and execute deals. Work closely with Derivatives members of the Institutional Rates Sales team to deliver holistic, comprehensive solutions (debt issuance and associated derivatives) to clients.
What will you bring?
Ideal knowledge, skills and experience the role requires are:
- Minimum 2 years experience working in a Debt Capital Markets origination role (preferred but not essential)
- Background in corporate finance or credit analysis or demonstrates an ability to understand and analyse issuers business and financials.
- Team player with strong work ethic, attention to detail and a growth mindset.
- Develop strong relationships with clients of the bank and internal stakeholders
Desirable, knowledge, skills and experience the role requires are:
- Strong interpersonal skills, influencing and negotiating skills that can be used in motivating, influencing and advising key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Experience working with DCM team on all aspects of the deal life cycle, including but not limited to the origination phase, marketing, documentation through to execution and hedging.
- Demonstrated experience in Asia/Australia/New Zealand product a plus.
- Higher/Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or Economics/Commerce
- Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
- Practical experience in pricing fixed income securities across various currencies and markets
- Basic understanding of Australian debt securities market
- Proficient in Bloomberg, Excel and PowerPoint
