About the Role

As a the Financial Crime Lead and MLRO in our Pacific Risk team, you’ll play a critical role in protecting ANZ, our customers, and the communities we serve from financial crime risks. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer Fiji, you will provide oversight, review and challenge across Financial Crime and Fraud risk themes, ensuring compliance with AML/CTF, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC), and Fraud risk requirements.

You will act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Fiji, providing expert guidance to the business, engaging with regulators and law enforcement agencies, and helping to strengthen ANZ’s financial crime framework through effective risk management, stakeholder influence, and continuous improvement.

What will your day look like?

As a Financial Crime Lead and MLRO, you will be accountable for:
•    Providing oversight, review and challenge of Financial Crime and Fraud risks across Fiji.
•    Acting as the designated MLRO, ensuring AML/CTF and sanctions obligations are met.
•    Delivering expert advice on regulatory requirements, policies and controls.
•    Partnering with business teams to strengthen financial crime risk management and awareness.
•    Engaging with regulators, law enforcement and industry stakeholders.
•    Monitoring emerging risks, trends and compliance obligations, providing timely insights and recommendations.
•    Supporting key reporting, governance and risk committee forum

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

•    Strong AML/CTF and Financial Crime knowledge.
•    Experience in Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime or a related field.
•    Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
•    Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability.
•    Strong planning, organisation and project management skills.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Sound judgement and decision-making capability.
•    A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, Law or a related discipline would be advantageous.
