About the Role
We’re looking for a values-led, strategic finance leader to step into the role of Chief Financial Officer – Pacific. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact across our Pacific business, where financial integrity, strong governance, and people development are at the heart of everything we do. As a seasoned finance professional, this role offers the chance to influence outcomes across multiple geographies, providing forward-looking insights and driving strategy in partnership with senior leaders. With a focus on nurturing talent and uplifting financial capability, this individual plays a key role in strengthening our presence and performance in the region.
As a key member of both the Pacific Leadership Team and the NZ CFO’s Leadership Team, the CFO, Pacific will lead with purpose and collaboration. The role has responsibility for the leadership and management of all business activities and operations relating to Finance, including financial and regulatory reporting, performance management, and strategic planning. It also carries accountability for managing non-financial risk across the Pacific Finance function, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and data integrity. This is a multifaceted leadership role that blends financial stewardship with people leadership, offering the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the long-term success of our Pacific communities.

What will your day look like?
In this role, your day-to-day will include:
- Leading the delivery of accurate, timely financial and regulatory reporting across Pacific countries, ensuring integrity, compliance, and alignment with local and Group standards.
- Providing strategic financial insights and partnering with senior leaders to shape business strategy, drive performance, and support decision-making.
- Overseeing financial performance management, including forecasting, outlook processes, and continuous improvement of reporting tools and insights.
- Maintaining strong governance and risk management practices, with a focus on non-financial risk (NFR), data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Building and nurturing trusted relationships across ANZ Pacific, NZ, and Group to enable collaboration, alignment, and shared success.
- Championing a customer-focused, values-led culture within the Finance function, ensuring decisions are grounded in impact and integrity.
- Leading and developing a high-performing, diverse finance team through coaching, feedback, and inclusive leadership.
- Creating a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and psychological safety, including role-modelling a ‘speak-up’ environment.
- Challenging and improving finance processes to drive efficiency, innovation, and uplift across the function.
- Actively contributing to the Pacific and NZ CFO leadership teams, helping shape the future of Finance across the region.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent), with significant experience in financial services.
- Deep expertise in financial and regulatory reporting, budgeting, cost control, and financial performance management.
- A strong understanding of the financial services industry, with a sharp eye for quality, standards, and continuous improvement.
- Proven leadership and people management skills, with a passion for developing others and building high-performing, inclusive teams.
- Experience working with regulators and driving balanced outcomes across the full range of stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative mindset and a track record of supporting and managing change with empathy and clarity.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to doing what’s right.
- Experience in a CFO or senior Finance leadership role is preferred.
- Familiarity with working in or across APAC (Asia-Pacific) organisations is also desirable, though not a requirement.
