About the Role
As a Business Analyst – Compliance & Conduct in our Business Unit, you’ll play a key role in plays a critical role in supporting the identification, assessment, and management of conduct and compliance risks across the business. Working within the Compliance & Conduct Centre of Excellence (CoE) in the First Line of Defence, this role partners closely with business teams to design, embed, and uplift sustainable risk controls across processes, systems, data, and end‑to‑end customer journeys. The role focuses on providing data‑driven, practical insights that support informed, risk‑aware decision‑making while ensuring strong governance and regulatory alignment.

What will your day look like?
As a Business Analyst – Compliance & Conduct, you will be:
• Supporting and coordinating conduct and compliance risk assessments across business processes, systems, data, and customer journeys.
• Partnering with business teams to design, uplift, and embed conduct and compliance risk controls aligned to enterprise frameworks and regulatory expectations.
• Reviewing control design and effectiveness to identify gaps, weaknesses, or inefficiencies and supporting risk‑based improvements.
• Supporting regulatory and policy change by coordinating impact assessments and assisting with the implementation of required changes.
• Maintaining accurate risk event, issue, and remediation logs, ensuring documentation is complete and audit‑ready.
• Preparing risk insights, analysis, and materials to support governance forums, audits, regulatory requests, and assurance activities.
• Identifying and escalating material conduct and compliance risks where controls or frameworks are not operating as intended.
• Supporting remediation planning and working with stakeholders to address identified risk and control issues.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to uplift compliance and conduct risk maturity across the business.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
• A tertiary qualification in business, law, risk, compliance, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of conduct and compliance risk management frameworks, standards, and methodologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory obligations, policy requirements, and regulatory change management within financial services.
• Experience assessing control design and effectiveness and applying risk concepts in practical business contexts.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data and insights into practical risk mitigation actions.
• High attention to detail and strong documentation and governance skills.
• Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with business and risk stakeholders.
• A proactive, solution‑focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and strong risk culture.
